The Dunkley family have been farming in the Capel region of South West Western Australia for over 110 years. They were pioneering settlers of the Stirling Estate and established the trading name Dunkley Bros in 1904.

The Stirling Estate was identified as excellent farming country and was set aside as the personal estate of Governor James Stirling, the first governor of the fledgling Swan River Colony.

 

However Stirling never took possession of the estate and by 1904 the government of the new state of Western Australia recognised the need to develop this excellent farming land and sold small holdings to local settlers including several members of the Dunkley family.

 

We are now the fifth and sixth generation of Dunkley farmers on the Stirling Estate property.

 

We started breeding Wiltipoll sheep in 2010, building up our lamb stocks with the aim of starting Stirling Estate Lamb, premium grass fed lamb, direct from our farm to your door.

So here we are! We have finally made our idea into a reality!
